In 2010 Stuart won Best Director in the USA for Freight, it was presented to him by Hollywood star D B Sweeney  at the Breckenridge Film Festival. This followed the film also winning Best Actor and a Silver Palm for Excellence at the Mexican International Film festival, and nominations for Best Film and Best Special Effects in LA.

Previously  Devils Gate was a runner up for Best Director at Fantasporto, and The Scarlet Tunic were was nominated at both Verona and Cabourg romantic film festivals where Stuart was treated to the red carpet once again.

The Usual Children, now twice re-released, most recently as Mystical Christmas, was in official selection at the AFI and Halifax.
